Yahnundasis employee, Ron Rogowski honored for 40 years of service and breaking down barriers

Over 100 members, family, and friends gathered at the Yahnundasis Golf Club on Friday, October 26th, to attend a special, surprise event honoring Mr. Ron Rogowski for over 40 years of employment at the club. Mr. Rogowski, also affectionately known as “Rugsy" received training through programs offered at The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, as well as Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES. Ron currently serves as a member of the club’s culinary staff in addition to other duties, and is considered an integral part of the Yahnundasis team. Ron also assists the front of the house at the Club, having primary responsibility for the carving stations at its many events.

Speaking at the event, Mark Dudek, Director of Communications and Development for The Arc, Oneida-Lewis shared, “Mr. Rogowski’s loyal service to the Yahnundasis highlights the positive and substantial impact that those with disabilities have in our community. This wonderful tribute to Ron during National Disability Employment Awareness Month embodies its purpose, which is to celebrate the contributions of workers with disabilities, and to educate the public about the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents.”

Ron is an avid fan of the Utica College Hockey team and received as one of his many gifts a Utica College hockey jersey complete with his name and the number “40”. Ron was also given a signed parking space at the Yahnundasis to acknowledge the club’s gratitude for his many years of exemplary service.
